Our Company

Hudgins-Groover is a real estate appraisal and real estate brokerage firm. The principals are Richard T. (Dick) Hudgins, MAI, and Mike Groover, IFAS. Hudgins-Groover began as a real estate agency in 1979, which brokered commercial properties, farms, ranches, and residential properties.  Shortly thereafter, Hudgins-Groover began investing in development projects which included residential subdivisions, townhouses, apartments, and commercial sites.

An investment group, Hudgro, Inc., was also organized by the principals to buy properties at Trustee's Sales in Wharton, Harris, Fort Bend, and Matagorda Counties.

The partnership, known as Hudgins-Groover Appraisal, began performing real estate appraisals in the early 1980's as a result of client confidence in their experience as real estate professionals. They have since advanced their real estate appraisal expertise with professional training and education with Richard Hudgins obtaining the MAI appraisal designation and Mike Groover obtaining the IFAS appraisal designation.

During the Spring of 1998, Hudgins-Groover Real Estate was established to expand their real estate services to again include the brokerage of residential, farm & ranch, and commercial properties. 

In the summer of 2014, we purchased a residential property in Needville, which was remodeled to become our new office there.  The Harvey Storm of August 2017 flooded our primary office in Wharton located at 120 N. Richmond Road.  At this time, it is being refurbished to once again be an office location for Hudgins-Groover; however, currently it is closed.  Our new office in Wharton is staffed by our agent Stacie Reitz and is located at 2103 N. Richmond Road in Wharton.  Since the flood our Needville office has become our primary office and is located at 13403 Hwy 36 in Needville, Texas.

We are proud to serve both Wharton County and Fort Bend County; howvever, Hudgins-Groover is equiped and ready to service your real estate needs ANYWHERE IN TEXAS!!!  We appraised properties in over 50 Texas Counties and have sold properties in the counties of Wharton, Fort Bend, Matagorda, Austin, Washington, Brazos, and Harris, and Real.
